1. Overview
Perfect Cook ("the App") is a cooking timer application for iOS developed by Xavier Canchal ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information (if any) we collect when you use the App, and how we handle it.
We built Perfect Cook with privacy as a foundation: the App has no user accounts, no analytics SDK, no advertising network, and no third-party tracking.
2. Information We Collect
We collect no personal information. Specifically:
- No name, email address, or contact details
- No location data
- No device identifiers or advertising IDs
- No usage analytics or behavioral tracking
- No crash reports sent to our servers
3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The App stores the following data locally on your device only, using iOS standard storage (AsyncStorage). This data never leaves your device:
- Settings — your preferred temperature unit (°F/°C), weight unit (imperial/metric), and language (English/Spanish)
- Ingredient data cache — a local copy of the ingredient and cooking guide data fetched from our public GitHub repository, stored to allow offline use after the first launch
You can clear this data at any time by deleting and reinstalling the App.
4. Ingredient Data
On first launch, the App fetches ingredient and cooking guide data from a public JSON file hosted on GitHub (raw.githubusercontent.com). This is a one-way data download — no information about you or your device is sent to GitHub as part of this request beyond what is standard in any HTTPS request (such as your IP address, as handled by GitHub's own Privacy Statement).
5. In-App Purchase
Perfect Cook is a one-time purchase processed exclusively through Apple's App Store. We do not handle, store, or have access to any payment information. Apple's Privacy Policy governs all purchase transactions.
6. Children's Privacy
The App does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. It complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
7. Third-Party Services
The App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The only external network request made by the App is to GitHub (see Section 4).
8. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
9. Contact
